March 26, 2019
MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Police Department is looking for a select group of city residents between the ages of 18 and 25 to partake in the Milwaukee Police Ambassador Program. In its fifth year of implementation, the Police Ambassador program serves as a six-month paid work experience program for young adults interested in pursuing a meaningful career in public safety or criminal justice.
The Milwaukee Police Department’s Police Ambassador Program was created by Mayor Tom Barrett and provides training and shadowing with experienced members of the Police Department. Mentors provide guidance and support for the duration of the program to help Ambassadors achieve their professional goals while also building relationships with other members of the Department.

Numerous Ambassador alumni currently serve the City of Milwaukee as Parking Enforcement Officers, Community Service Officers, and 911 operators while they work toward their career in law enforcement. The Police Ambassador Program is part of Compete Milwaukee’s workforce development efforts.
