TRANSFER/PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Under the direction of the Budget and Management Director, the manager of Financial Operations ensures that crucial components of the development of the annual City Budget are consistent with the Mayor’s priorities and sound fiscal policy. The manager serves as the primary adviser to the Budget & Management Director on these issues and will have a large role in the decision-making process.

The Fire Dispatcher – Senior oversees the receipt of emergency, non-emergency, and inter-department calls, and assures the prompt dispatch of the proper units or agencies to the scene of fire, medical, or other emergencies. Secondary duties include maintaining discipline, submitting personnel review recommendations to Fire Dispatch Manager or Fire Dispatch Assistant Managers, assigning duties to subordinates, conducting coaching and training, maintaining reports and records, and assisting in updating policies and procedures.

Under the direction of the Sanitation Services Manager, the Sanitation Project Analyst facilitates and supports the planning, implementation, monitoring and overall management of sanitation specific projects including operations, communications and outreach, procurement, and pilot programs.

Working as a strategic partner with and adviser to the Parking Services Manager, the Tow Lot Manager sets the operational direction on all matters related to the intake, processing, storage, release and disposal of towed vehicles.

Under the direction of the Urban Forestry Technical Services Manager, Urban Forestry Technicians (UFTs) participate in the administration of various City of Milwaukee ordinances and City-owned property maintenance contracts. UFTs review construction drawings, prepare and enforce special provisions, issue construction-related permits, and monitor construction activities in public rights of way to protect City-owned trees and landscaping. They also participate in the development and delivery of safety and technical training and investigate and respond to service requests from the public and public officials.

 

 

 

Transfer/Promotional Opportunities and Promotional Examinations are not open to Milwaukee Public Schools employees or to the public. Only current non-probationary City of Milwaukee employees and civilian personnel in MFD and MPD hired through a City Service Commission process will be considered. Individuals with exempt, provisional, temporary or emergency appointments are not eligible for transfer.
