As a member of the Mayor's cabinet and under the leadership of the Fire & Police Commission Executive Director, Kyle Mirehouse serves as the Director of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) for the city of Milwaukee. This vital role serves as a liaison and primary point-of-contact for activities related to emergency management such as logistics, planning, providing oversight of the emergency 911 communications and radio systems, and directing all emergency preparedness initiatives throughout the City. Mr. Mirehouse is a decorated military veteran – proudly serving as a Platoon Commander in the United States Marine Corps – earning a Purple Heart for his valiant, extraordinary fidelity of service to his country in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Asia. As a security and training expert who also specializes in crisis management and response, Mr. Mirehouse holds a master's degree from American Military University in Homeland Security and Emergency Management – Public Health. Previously to his current role, Mr. Mirehouse served several years as the Emergency Management Coordinator for Milwaukee County – and before this – held the key role as Director of Crisis Management Operations for Black Swan Solutions, a best-in-class firm that provides emergency preparedness and crisis management.
