is Director of the Office of Small Business Development. In this role, she provides strategic direction and oversight for the City’s business inclusion program which promotes economic development for small disadvantaged businesses, as well as, the workforce development program that connects city residents to employment opportunities on certain city-funded private development projects.
Ms. Purvis’ experience in the public and private sectors has been essential in shaping her moral character and approach to leadership. She is a native Milwaukeean and received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Marquette University, her Masters of Science in Business Management from Cardinal Stritch University and most recently participated in the African American Leadership Program.
She currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Commissioners for the Social Development Commission; Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for the African-American Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin; is on the Board of Directors for the Urban Economic Development Association, and is an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.
