Fratney Street and Wright Street will be Milwaukee's first bicycle boulevards, which are calmer, less busy neighborhood streets designed to create a bicycle-friendly environment.

Interactive Bike Map

The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works is creating an interactive bike map to provide bicycling directions using low stress streets that are comfortable to ride on.

In spring 2018, the City of Milwaukee re-striped Locust Street and North Avenue to include the city's first protected bike lanes.

N. Hawley Rd. Lane Reconfiguration Project ("Road Diet")

The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works is exploring options to improve vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist safety in the 10th District by proposing a "road diet" re-striping project for N. Hawley Road from Michigan St. to Vliet Street.
