Fund My Future Milwaukee is a public-private effort driven by individuals and organizations committed to ensuring that all children have the chance for a future that includes higher education. This citywide initiative will open Children's Savings Accounts (CSA's) to help students save, plan, and pay for education costs beyond high school.
Beginning in 2019,The ultimate goal of Fund My Future Milwaukee is to provide all Milwaukee K5 students enrolled ... with a CSA. Savings matches and bonus rewards will be integrated as the initiative grows. The accounts will be paired with financial literacy and asset building services.
Research shows that having even small educational savings raises children's expectations for their future and can increase the level of education that they attain. Students from low-income families who have between $1-$499 saved for college are 3 times more likely to attend college, and 4 times more likely to graduate than those whose families do not have college savings.
Fund My Future Milwaukee program partners include the City of Milwaukee, United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County, Edvest (Wisconsin's College Savings Plan), Employ Milwaukee, Milwaukee Public Schools, and charter, choice and private schools and others.
