The We Are Here MKE collective led by The Asha Project, continues partnering with the City of Milwaukee Office on Community Wellness and Safety and Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services to host the promised Town Hall 2 community engagement activity. Town Hall 2 centers community voices and opens to the public. Titled “All Hands On Deck Against Community Violence and Domestic Violence: Centering Voices of the Community”." This is an invitation from partners to community residents, leaders, churches, and businesses to attend this opportunity for discussion, learning, and gathering input from the community on ways to address violence that is so prevalent in our communities and is taking younger and younger lives. Partners and leaders want to hear from the community considerations to contemplate on addressing homicides, domestic and intimate partner violence, non-fatal assaults and shootings, car jackings, road rage shootings, reckless driving and speeding that is taking a significant toll - increased innocent lives lost, increased families mourning, and children displaced resulting in an increasingly splintered community. Further, partners and leaders want to learn from the community the community’s role in considerations to help stem the tide of violence. This town hall is free with a hot meal upon entrance.
