The City of Milwaukee Equal Rights Commission, a group of community leaders appointed by the Mayor who work to make Milwaukee more equitable and free from discrimination, is seeking candidates to join this dynamic municipal organization.
Commission members are actively involved in organizational governance, and are expected to attend bimonthly commission meetings, participate in at least two board committees, which meet monthly, and to represent the interests of the city of Milwaukee and its residents, workers, and visitors in matters pertaining to equal rights.
The Equal Rights Commission needs a variety of skills, with a strong emphasis on candidates with experience in housing, compliance, legal, public accommodations, marketing, and media expertise, as well as those connected to the local workforce development agency, foundations, organized labor, cultural organizations, communities of color, and trans/nonbinary communities.
