COVID-19 is diagnosed by a test. Regardless of vaccination status, anyone who was exposed to COVID-19 or experiences COVID-19 symptoms should take a test.
There are many ways to get tested for COVID-19 in Wisconsin. First, contact your doctor to ask if your primary health care clinic provides testing. If testing is not available with your primary care physician, find a free community testing site near you. As of April 15, 2023, the Milwaukee Health Department’s COVID-19 testing centers are no longer in operation. Other possible community testing locations can be found on the Wisconsin Department of Health Services’ website.
Rapid at-home COVID-19 tests are also an excellent tool. Tests can be ordered online at SayYesCOVIDHomeTest.org (final orders must be placed by the end of May 2023) or COVIDtests.gov and shipped directly to your home. Rapid COVID-19 tests can also be purchased over-the-counter at your local pharmacy, retail store, or online.
Free At-Home Tests - Every household in Wisconsin is eligible to order free at-home COVID-19 tests from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, shipped directly to your home.
**Final order of tests through this program must be ordered before the end of May 2023.
