Havenwoods and Villard BIDs are partnering with several entities including MMSD and City Forestry for the "Improving our Neighborhood One Tree at a Time" project. At least 250 trees will be planted in the neighborhoods with input from businesses and residents.
To promote and prepare participants, we will be having several tree identification walks at the Havenwoods State Forest with networking.
Tuesday, September 12 will be for businesses. Business employees will spend time in the Urban Arboretum to identify and view several trees that can be planted on the streets of Milwaukee. Then they will take a walk through part of the Havenwoods State forest to learn what businesses can do to help with storm water management, sustaining our environment and beautification.
This will be a great opportunity for other businesses and BID members from all areas to see how they could also potentially partner with MMSD and Milwaukee Forestry to affect change.
Registration is required, please contact Jessica Noth for more information.
