Every year, the Wisconsin Bike Federation hosts an annual Bike Week. Wisconsin Bike Week consists of many different bike related events and community bike rides. Wisconsin Bike Week related events occur in three cities throughout the state: Lacrosse, Madison, and Milwaukee.
For the past several years, the Wisconsin Bike Federation has partnered up with the Milwaukee Recreation to host the Bike Bazaar, a fundraiser to promote the Milwaukee Recreations Milwaukee Mountain Bike (MKE MTB) program. Many bike parts, new and used, are for sale during the Bike Bazaar for any residents or bike enthusiasts.
Bike MS is the largest fundraising bike ride in the world, supporting multiple sclerosis (MS), a disease of the central nervous system. Many cities across the United States take part in the Bike MS fundraiser, with over 75,000 riders participating annually. The Wisconsin chapter of Bike MS takes place between Pewaukee and Madison, with different distance options, 50 miles, 75 miles, or 100 miles, to bike each day.
Chris’ Slow Roll is a laid back bike ride, consisting of 10 miles from West Allis to downtown and back. The ride mainly consists of riding the Hank Aaron State Bike Trail, with routes on few city streets. At the end of the bike ride, there is a large gathering of all the riders at the end at Kegel’s Inn in West Allis.
The UPAF Ride for the Arts is the largest one-day bike ride in the state of Wisconsin. The purpose of this bike ride is to raise money for Milwaukee area performing arts programs.
