FAQ for Taxpayers - 2016 [PDF]
Objection forms can be picked up at the Assessor’s Office, room 507 at Milwaukee City Hall. The forms can also be requested via mail, email or by calling 414-286-6565. The Assessor’s office will either mail or email an objection form to the owner based on the requester’s preference. When you send in your email request, please send it to firstname.lastname@example.org and include your address or tax parcel number.
You should first attempt to decide for yourself what your property is worth. This can be done by looking at area sales, contacting appraisers, and comparing assessments of similar homes. Sales and assessment information is available in the Assessor's office, on the Assessor's Office Web site at http://assessments.milwaukee.gov, and the Milwaukee Public Library. The information in the Assessor's Office is open to the public for review during regular business hours.
