Are you a high school student or recent graduate curious about a career in the fire service?
Milwaukee Fire Department Explorer Post #875 is looking for students (ages 14-20) to join our post. The post meets once a month and Explorers are taught basic firefighting and first-aide skills. Explorers also have the opportunity to get an inside look at the fire department and decide if it is a career they would like to pursue.
The MFD provides everything Explorers need, so all they need to do is show up ready to learn. Our experienced firefighters, who all volunteer their time to this initiative, are proud to provide the Explorers exciting, hands-on learning opportunities.
Explorers will become familiar with performing firefighting tasks with actual firefighting equipment. The volunteer staff is composed of all ranks and includes members of the Milwaukee Fire Department’s special teams such as Dive Rescue, Hazardous Materials and Heavy Urban Rescue.
All Explorers pay a $10 registration fee. If you are interested, please contact Lt. Jeff Gauthier.
