- Bulky Changes in 2011!
COLLECTION CHANGES – April 4th starts summer set out garbage collection. Residents without alleys must place carts at the curb on the designated collection day. All households will receive a tag on their garbage cart with the scheduled summer collection days. If you do not receive a tag by April 1st, contact the DPW Call Center at 286-CITY (2489).
Collection crews will only take up to one (1) cubic yard of excess items on your scheduled collection day. Piles exceeding the 1 cubic yard limit will be tagged for the resident to remove it. Nuisance garbage piles will be referred to the Department of Neighborhood Services for code enforcement. The one (1) cubic yard size limit is waived during your Project Clean & Green Week.
From April 1 through Nov 30, the City will take up to 2 cubic yards of brush but you must call 286-CITY (2489) to schedule a pick up. Brush is collected by separate truck and composted to save money and landfill space. Brush in amounts greater than 2 cubic yards will not be collected and may incur fines.
