Winter Garbage & Recycling Collection Schedules

Winter Estimated Garbage & Recycling Collection Schedule:

Winter Garbage and Recycling Cart Collection:

Winter schedules begin Monday, December 2, 2013 and run through April 4, 2014. Collection routes and days will change for many City residents. There is no guaranteed collection day in winter, as the same drivers who collect garbage & recycling also plow and salt city streets during snow and ice events. Residents can look up their next scheduled collection day online by clicking on the link above.

Automated routes this winter:

There will be five (5) routes this winter where fully automated trucks with a mechanical arm will collect garbage and recycling.  The mechanical arm allows the driver to retrieve and dump carts without leaving the truck.  Residents on automated courses have received a cart tag with their designated collection days identified.  Please set your garbage and/or recycling carts out at the collection point, following the guidelines found in the insert in the Fall 2012 Recycling and Waste Reduction newsletter.  You can also use the online schedule feature above for more information.

Maintain a shoveled & clear path to and around your carts:

This will guarantee no disruptions with delivery of services to you this winter. Solid Waste Regulations ORD.79-5: It shall be the responsibility of the owners and tenants of every premise where solid waste is collected to provide a clear path to all containers free of snow and ice.  1st violation is $25.00 assessment and 2nd violation is a $50.00 assessment.

Adopt a Fire Hydrant on your block this winter season:

Keeping your fire hydrant clear of snow & ice will insure a safe winter for you and your family.
