The City Clerk License Division administers and processes license and permit applications and license fees on behalf of the Common Council and City Clerk. For information relating to specific license and permit types, go to Licenses and Permits.
Residents can now sign up to receive electronic notifications whenever a license application is made within a designated distance from a registered address. By registering a valid email address and password at the City's "E-Notify" link, users will be notified via email one day after any application within the designated distance is submitted. Fingerprinting Requirements
The Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) is required to conduct an investigation of the criminal history of applicants for certain new and renewal licenses and permits. All applicants whose fingerprints are not already on file with the Milwaukee Police Department must report to the Police Administration Building at the following address and times in order to be fingerprinted:
