Information Technology Management

The City of Milwaukee uses information systems to add value to the community by delivering high quality services at the lowest possible cost.

Mission Statement

The Department of Administration's Information and Technology Management Division (ITMD) will lead the City in using and sharing information in ways that will provide the maximum efficiency and greatest benefit to Milwaukee city's citizens, businesses, and City government.

Policy and Administration

The Policy and Administration section provides policy planning and research, develops and monitors information standards, and coordinates citywide initiatives among City departments.  The section also supports administrative operations of ITMD.

 

Applications and Development

The Applications and Development section develops and supports applications relating to the City's web site, mapping and geographic display of information and operations of certain critical City and departmental systems. The section also manages the City's business applications, web applications, Map Milwaukee and web site content.
     

Information Services

The Information Services section supports and maintains the City's servers, workstations, laptops, printers and other computing devices for most City departments. The section also manages email, provides hardware support for the City's internet site and web-based applications, implements anti-virus and malware protection, system backups, and offsite disaster-recovery, and operates centralized systems that maintain and provide data that support critical departmental activities.
 
 

Enterprise Systems

The Enterprise Systems section manages and maintains the City’s Human Resources Management System (HRMS) and Financial Management Information Systems (FMIS). HRMS includes payroll, benefits administration and employee self-service. FMIS includes all financial functions including accounts payable and receivable, procurement and inventory.

 
 

Unified Call Center (UCC)

UCC's mission is to provide the public with quick access to all City of Milwaukee services and information through multiple channels. UCC strives for the highest possible level of customer service. UCC helps agencies improve service delivery by allowing them to focus on their core missions and manage field-level work more efficiently.
 

Network and Telecommunications

The Network and Telecommunications section designs and supports the City local and wide area networks and the municipal telephone system. Network design includes all hardware and cabling to connect facilities throughout the City. Telephone systems include all desk phones, cell phones, smart phones and voicemail
