To inform the selection of MKE Elevate's Priority Action Areas, the City of Milwaukee Health Department (MHD) conducted a community-wide survey in an effort to better understand what issues mattered the most to those who live and work in Milwaukee. A total of 3,026 surveys were completed online and at events across the city between July 15, 2016 and September 30, 2016.
The top five issues identified by the community as important for improving health and well-being in Milwaukee are:
1. Crime and Neighborhood Safety
2. Access to Affordable and Healthy Food
3. Jobs and Income/Wages
5. Access to Basic Human Needs
Please review the Priority Issues Survey Results report for more details. The results from this Community Survey were combined with broad community input to develop the MKE Elevate Priority Action Areas.
