The City of Milwaukee is committed to supporting the health, wellness, and safety of its employees and their families. The City’s Wellness program includes a wide range of programs, services, and resources, including an on-site wellness center, traveling wellness center sites, year-round coaching, access to registered dieticians, educational sessions, group fitness classes, department-specific initiatives, and on-site Workplace Clinic and Injury Prevention Clinic.

The City's goal is to establish a workplace culture that enhances employees' lives and provides all the tools necessary to meet them wherever they are on their road to good health, ensuring they are well at work, well at home, and well into retirement.

Benefits and Wellness Updates via Text Message

Sign up to receive City benefits and wellness updates via text message by answering a few short questions.  Both employees and spouses are eligible to register.  This service is completely voluntary and employees and spouses can unsubscribe at any time.  No replies can be sent through this service.

Workplace Clinic Highlight - Online Scheduling and Virtual Visits

Did you know that you can schedule a virtual visit with the City of Milwaukee Workplace Clinic through MyChart? MyChart is a secure digital connection that you can enroll in online or through the Froedtert & MCW app. Some of the conditions that can be treated are:

  • Acne
  • Allergies
  • Cold and flu symptoms
  • Cold sores
  • Musculoskeletal aches and strains
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Sinus infections

The clinic is free for City employees and their spouses, regardless of their health plan enrollment. Dependents (18 months and older) enrolled in the City's UHC health plan are also eligible to use the clinic at no cost.

Current Wellness Programming

Wellness programming is offered throughout the year including lunch 'n learns, fitness classes, financial wellness, coaching with health educators and registered dietitians, behavioral health and stress management.

Wellness Coaching

Coaching with Health Educators to address:

Resiliency and stress management tools, helpful sleep practices, time management skills, and findng positivity and gratitude during difficult times.

Registered Dietitian Coaching to address:

Meal planning tips, how to create balanced meals, tips for cooking at home, cooking on a budget, and finding nutritional resources.

Healthy Rewards Program

Healthy Rewards is an incentive based program where participants complete 75, 100, or 125 points and earn $150, $250 or $350 in a Health Reimbursement Account.  Employees and spouses must complete the Health Appraisal to be eligible to participate in the Healthy Rewards program.

Clinic Services

Workplace Clinic

The Workplace Clinic provides free, convenient, onsite and virtual health care services for employees and spouses regardless of enrollment in the City's health insurance.  Dependents (18 months and older) enrolled in the City's UHC health plan are also eligible to use the clinic at no cost.  Call 414-777-3413 to schedule an in-person or virtual visit.

Injury Prevention Clinic

The Injury Prevention Clinic offers preventive care measures to address new strains, muscle and joint issues before they become more serious. The clinic also provides assistance with optimizing the ergonomics of office and home workstations, pain management education, exercise instruction, injury prevention tips, recommendations for self-management of symptoms, education on correct posture and body mechanics to perform tasks safely. This is FREE to City employees and spouses regardless of insurance coverage.  Call 414-777-3413 to schedule an appointment.

If employees are currently or have previously been treated by a provider for a condition, the clinic cannot see them for the same condition.

Injury Prevention Clinic Virtual Visits

Froedtert FastCare Clinics

City employees, spouses and dependents (18 months and older) enrolled in the City's UnitedHealthcare health plan are eligible to use the six Froedtert FastCare clinics at no cost by showing their City of Milwaukee UHC health insurance card.

UnitedHealthcare Nurse Liaison


An onsite nurse liaison is available to help members understand information and follow-up steps from doctor appointments, provide support with a chronic medical condition like diabetes, hypertension and asthma; find the right type of care, assist with medical and pharmacy claims issues and address questions or issues regarding care or treatment. The nurse liaison is available to meet with employees and spouses. To schedule an appointment call 240-549-9879 or email [email protected]. Nurse Liaison Services include:

  • Improve understanding of health and medical conditions and discuss treatment options
  • Assist with medical and pharmacy claim questions and issues
  • Provide group educational sessions and programs to employees. Check the programs tab for the upcoming schedule for programs and education sessions.
  • Monthly support and disease management groups
  • Help with chronic condition management such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma and heart disease
  • Educate and refer employees to available health and wellness program services
  • Navigate UnitedHealthcare’s tools and resources including finding primary care physicians and specialists.

The City of Milwaukee offers an onsite EAP program that offers confidential counseling, assessment and referral services for employees and families when they need help navigating resources for any situation affecting their life.

  • Parenting/family or marital problems
  • Alcohol/substance misuse

UnitedHealthcare EAP

UnitedHealthcare (UHC) insured members can utilize the UHC EAP at 888-887-4114 24/7 for referrals to behavioral health providers, legal and financial resources.

Virtual behavioral health visits are also an option for UHC covered members.  Click here for a flyer with additional information.

Go to www.myuhc.com and log in with member HealthSafeID, click on “Find a Doctor” and then “Mental Health” to start the process.
