It is impossible to separate our work lives and personal lives. Each affects the other. Everybody has to work and life is too short to be miserable. If we just "jump ship" to another situation our issues will most likely show up again and again. So we need to face our problems head-on and work them through to make our lives better. However, we are so close to our issues that many times we cannot imagine options and we get stuck feeling hopeless. Sometimes we just don't know what to do and it can be scary to address those problems. This is where an experienced counselor can be our guide. It takes courage to keep going and pursue changes. So just like a team coach strategizes with and encourages the players, I do the same thing. My business experience combined with counseling expertise allows me to help employees manage the practical and emotional parts of work and life issues and learn to try new ways. The only thing you have control of is your own life and behavior, not anyone else's. So take charge and take action.
