COURSES OFFERED:

The prices listed on Instructing Technologies Web site do not reflect the discount offered to City of Milwaukee employees.  The cost to City employees in '2011 is $225 per student, per day.

  • For a complete listing of upcoming classes, click here (see pages 4-5; updated 11/14/11). Click on the Course Title to see the description.  Please do not register for a class on Instructing Technologies' Web site. You should access their web site only to view course descriptons.

GUIDELINES:

In order to use the Tuition Benefit for a class attended during work hours (city time), the course must be directly related and critical to your present position. If it’s not directly related, or if it’s for a promotional opportunity, you must attend on your own time (i.e., vacation, comp, etc.).  If your department is paying the registration fee from departmental funds, you may attend on City time with your department's approval.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR A CLASS:

  1. There is no upfront payment for attending a public class with Instructing Technologies if you follow the registration instructions below.  For those using their tuition benefit, the registration fee is automatically "deducted" from your available tuition benefit balance.  Please be sure you have read the Guidelines listed above!
  2. DO NOT register directly with Instructing Technologies or you will have to pay out-of-pocket with a credit card and will pay the full price listed on their web site!
  3. The registration process is the same as if you were attending an in-house training program.  Choose the class you wish to attend, get your Supervisor's OK first, then you or your Supervisor should submit your name and the Course Title and Course Date(s) to your department's Training Information Coordinator (click here for a list of the Coordinators).   Do not contact Judy Kammermann to enroll yourself or others.  You must go through your Training Information Coordinator.
  4. Once the registration process is complete, you and your Training Information Coordinator will receive an official class confirmation through City E-Mail directly from Judy Kammermann of Training & Development Services.  Do not attend unless you have received the email confirmation.

VERY IMPORTANT!  DO NOT use employee self-service to apply for or enter any information into the system for these courses!  An official record of the class will automatically become a part of your training history after you complete the course.
