The City of Milwaukee provides a comprehensive and competitive benefits package centered on meeting the needs of employees and their families. The City’s benefits are designed to give employees choices along with tools and resources to help select the right benefits and use those benefits effectively throughout the year. New FSA Administrator: Benefit Advantage

The transition from eflex/TASC to Benefit Advantage was completed November 30th. Employees must now file all claims with Benefit Advantage instead of eflexgroup/TASC and should have received new debit cards in the mail.

Employees can create an account at www.benefitadvantage.com

Visit DER’s Flexible Spending website www.milwaukee.gov/Benefits2018/FSA for updated materials, forms, and information including a FAQ document to help address employee questions.

Employees can also contact Benefit Advantage at 1-800-686-6829 or email claims@benadvan.com with questions or issues regarding their accounts.

NEW City of Milwaukee Onsite Nurse Liaison

An onsite nurse liaison through UHC is available to help employees/spouses understand information and follow-up steps from doctor appointments, provide support with chronic medical conditions like diabetes, hypertension and asthma, find the right type of care and address questions or issues regarding care or treatment. The nurse will visit various City locations and is available to employees and spouses. This FREE service is available to all City of Milwaukee employees and spouses.

City Benefits for Domestic Partners Update

2017 Wisconsin Act 59, which was signed into law as part of the 2017-2019 state biennial budget, created a new section (66.0510) that changes the City’s ability to provide certain benefits to domestic partners. The legislation states that a local governmental unit many only provide an employee benefit plan to its officers, agents, employees, spouses and dependent children. Please see the attached letter for details on how this legislation will impact City of Milwaukee benefits for domestic partners and their dependents including health and dental insurance, life insurance and wellness programs and services.

FSA Run Out Period

Benefit Advantage, the City’s FSA/HRA administrator is managing the FSA claim run out period for the 2017 plan year. FSA Healthcare and Dependent Care claims incurred in the 2017 plan year, that have not been reimbursed, can be submitted from 1/1/2018 through 4/27/2018 for processing and reimbursement.
