Specimen Delivery & Submission Information

Contact the laboratory at (414) 286-3526 (phone) or (414) 286-5098 (fax) for assistance with any questions regarding appropriate specimen collection and transport.

Normal laboratory hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:45p.m., Monday through Friday.  Please call the lab in advance to arrange after-hours deliveries.  For emergencies after hours please call the City Hall Operator at (414) 286-2150.

Please note that incomplete test requests, lack of necessary demographics on the test requisition or inappropriate sample packaging and transport may delay test turn around time. Extremes in temperature (cold and hot) during transport of specimens should be avoided and may lead to inaccurate or misleading results. The laboratory has Styrofoam containers available for transport upon request.

If an outbreak is suspected, the laboratory can assist with appropriate test selection, collection and transport information.  In addition to clinical specimens, Environmental, Food, Dairy, Water, and Air testing may be available for public health needs.
