StreetShare is a regional program to educate and encourage motorists to share the road with pedestrians and other users. Funded by grant from the Wisconsin DOT's Bureau of Transportation Safety with funds from the National Highway Transportatin Safety Administration, StreetShare is different than other encouragement programs in that our partners lead by example. The operators of all City of Milwaukee fleet vehicles have been told to take extra care to yield the right of way to pedestrians and drive the speed limit or slower when appropriate. From our public works dump trucks to the squad cars for the Milwaukee Police Department, you can expect to see safe, lawful and courteous driving from City employees.
