Communications Technology Company Establishes Local Presence with Bay View Office
Business Projects Employing Dozens of People in Milwaukee
Milwaukee -- Mayor Tom Barrett welcomed Telcom & Data, Inc., a telecommunications company, to Milwaukee’s Bay View neighborhood on Monday. Telcom & Data, founded in Chicago more than fourteen years ago, provides telephone systems and other communication resources to its clients.
“Telcom & Data recognizes the business opportunities and the talented workforce in our city,” Mayor Barrett said. “With the creation of new jobs here, the city is particularly pleased to partner with the company in its expansion.”
Telcom & Data’s Milwaukee offices will be located in the Hide House at 2625 South Greeley Street. The growing business will occupy approximately 6,000 square feet in that building.
Company president Ricardo Trinidad says his company is committed to making a positive impact in Milwaukee. He says his decision to expand in Milwaukee followed a review of a variety of options.
The City of Milwaukee is providing a $42,000 loan to Telcom & Data to assist the company in establishing its new location. If Telcom & Data meets the terms of the loan, including maintaining staffing levels of at least 28 positions in 2013 and 2014, the loan will be forgiven. The Milwaukee Common Council approved the arrangement unanimously at its meeting on November 23rd.
The regional economic development team of Milwaukee 7 has worked with Telcom & Data to facilitate its expansion in Milwaukee. Alderman Tony Zielinski has strongly supported the efforts to attract the company.
