Prior to start of job:
Include with permit submittal-applicable drawings
In "Description of work to be performed" block of permit form:-purpose of piping system-working pressure (Please be aware that the City of Milwaukee Boiler Inspection Section does not consider WEPCO steam to be low pressure. All piping and equipment conveying WEPCO steam must be constructed to power piping standards, unless measures are taken to absolutely limit the steam pressure to 15 psi or less. )-length of installation-method of construction (welded or threaded)-method of Non Destructive Testing (NDT)
If welding is to be performed include the following information:-Welding Procedure Specification (WPS).-Procedure Qualification Record (PQR).-Welder Performance Qualification record (WPQ)-material specifications for components - if available at this time-mill test reports for piping - if available at this time
Upon Delivery of Materials to site If any Welding is to be performed
- Contact Boiler Inspection for a "Material Approval Inspection" at 286-2514
Ensure REQUIRED information is available at job site at this time. (Copies are acceptable)-material specifications-delivery bills-mill test reports
NOTE: Boiler Inspection requires 48 hours advance notice for inspection appointments due to other job appointments within the city.
Upon completion of work:
Contact Boiler inspection for a "NET Final Inspection"-Finished piping shall be inspected BEFORE insulating and/or placing in service. NOTE: A Non-Destructive Test (NDT) of system is always required as part of the final inspection. (Hydrostatic pressure testing is one type of NDT and may be required. CALL BOILER INSPECTION FOR THE ACCEPTABILITY OF NDT METHOD. WE WILL NOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR WRONG ASSUMPTIONS. Contractor shall provide a completed copy of State form SBD-5204 to the City of Milwaukee for signature documenting that the piping was tested prior to placing in service. This form is available from the State of Wisconsin.
