  • Police Officer Trinidad Rodriguez observed a suspicious person in the area of N. 83rd St. and W. Congress about 2:10 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12 . Officer Rodriguez contacted his partner, Officer David Martinez, who also was in the area. During the foot chase, the subject dropped a handgun and continued to run. The Officers arrested the subject and identified him as a 22 - year-old adult male and also recovered the firearm. • Good heads up work by officers who knew that a number of robberies had been committed near the 4800 block of W. Fond du Lac Ave. On Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at about 2:15pm, Officers Darcie Trunkel and Jennifer Johnson conducted a traffic stop in that area. • Traffic stops often lead to bigger things. On Wednesday, November 12, 2008, Officers Kieran Sawyer and Raynaldo Roman conducted a traffic stop in the 4000 block of West Vienna on a car that did not have a front license plate. During the stop, the officers smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the car, searched the auto and discovered a small quantity of marijuana and $10,844 in currency. The lone occupant of the vehicle was arrested for POCS - Marijuana (2nd or subsequent offense) and the money was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration to undergo federal forfeiture procedures.
