Common Council President Michael J. Murphy has called for an August 18, 2015 special election for the 11th Aldermanic District seat left vacant after the sudden passing in May of Alderman Joe Dudzik.The deadline for submitting nomination papers to the city Election Commission occurred at the close of business on June 23, 2015. A successor shall be elected to serve the remainder of the unexpired term which will expire on April 18, 2016.
The Walk 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge is a citywide effort to encourage people of all ages to add physical activity to their daily routines. Last year, we collectively logged more than 26,000 miles and this summer our challenge is to make Walk 100 even bigger and better. Getting involved is easy!
The STRONG Homes Loan Program offers partially forgivable loans to homeowners throughout the City of Milwaukee. Loans can be used to make emergency and essential home repairs and address building code orders. Loans are repayable, with a deferred payment option available for homeowners who are low income and elderly or disabled.
Earn & Learn is the City of Milwaukee’s youth development and employment initiative. The program provides employment opportunities in the city for high school youth and young adults, exposing them to the working world and improving workforce preparedness.
