The New Market Tax Credit (NMTC) Program provides investors with a 39 percent federal tax credit over a 7 year period for making qualified equity investments in designated Community Development Entities (CDEs).

A CDE is an organization whose primary mission is serving or providing investment capital to benefit low-income persons or low-income communities.
