Join us for a fun day of exploration and learning at the Materials Recovery Facility. We'll explore some of the cutting edge technologies that are used to sort and manufacture new products from old. We'll look at a range of multi-disciplinary lessons that will expose your students to STEAM and environmental principles.
Join us for a day of learning and fun! K-12 teachers will have the opportunity to learn about recycling, waste reduction, composting, and a variety of materials and resources to support classroom recycling efforts. This workshop is supported by Wisconsin Green & Healthy Schools and is for teachers from these schools. If teachers from schools not affiliated with a Wisconsin Green and Healthy School will have the opportunity to register their school for this program to participate in this FREE workshop. A school may send multiple teachers.

- 10:30 Natural resources & recycled products
- 11:00 Compost
- 11:45 Lunch is provided
- 12:30 Waste audits as a classroom activity and designing an effective recycling program
- 2:00 Lesson planning and resource sharing
Teachers who work at schools within the limits of the City of Milwaukee will receive a $50 credit towards the cost of a bus to bring their students to the MRF the following school year.
