Construction Debris

City of Milwaukee Drop Off Disposal Centers charge $20 for up to 8 cubic yards and $40 for 8 - 16 cubic yards for any waste defined as “Construction Debris”.

Cash and credit or debit cards are accepted. No checks please.

Construction Debris is defined as waste resulting from construction or demolition, alteration or repair, including excavated material (dirt).

Acceptable items include, but not limited to:

  • Roofing material
  • Brick & Block
  • Stones
  • Concrete
  • Lumber
  • Dirt
  • Drywall
  • Paneling
  • Flooring materials

Items Not Accepted:

  • Burnt debris
  • Painted bricks
  • Painted blocks
  • Painted concrete
  • Asphalt
  • Concrete containing iron rods

Shingles, bricks & block, concrete & stones, and dirt must be completely separated for placement into the boxes designated for those materials. Vehicles with inseparable loads of construction waste will not be allowed access. Flooring material includes, but is not limited to, carpet, carpet padding, tiles, linoleum, etc.

Load Size

$20 for up to 8 cubic yards, which is approximately the size of a standard 5 X 10 foot trailer. $40 for 8 - 16 cubic yards. No vehicle, with or without a trailer, will be allowed access if carrying debris in excess of 16 cubic yards. Any vehicle carrying mixed loads of Construction Debris and other types of waste will be charged $20 per load.

For safety reasons, we will not allow vehicles with unenclosed construction debris exceeding 4 feet in height access to the Self-Help Center. Please ensure that debris is stacked or piled no higher than 4 feet high if it is being transported in an unenclosed trailer or pick-up truck bed.

Restrictions

This service is only available to City of Milwaukee residents with a valid, state-issued driver’s license. NO CONTRACTORS OR INDIVIDUALS PERFORMING COMMERCIAL SERVICES ARE ALLOWED! Certain vehicles will not be allowed access to the Self-Help Centers. These include, but are not limited to vehicles:

  • bearing any type of business or commercial name, logo or contact information
  • with ladders or side-walls
  • with dual rear-axles
  • flat beds
  • with non-verifiable contents
