Mayor, Alderman McGee Jr. to hold meeting on Bronzeville
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and Alderman Michael McGee Jr. invite the public to attend an informational meeting to learn the latest about the Bronzeville Entertainment and Cultural District. The meeting will take place Monday, April 4th from 6- 8 p.m. at the DNR offices at 2300 N. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.
The Bronzeville Entertainment and Cultural District represents a comprehensive effort to revitalize a key commercial corridor in the City of Milwaukee, along North Avenue from N. 4th to 7th Streets. During the meeting, the public will have the opportunity to learn more about the changes they will see in the area over the next few months. They’ll also learn about the neighborhood component to the Bronzeville plan, including the resources that will be made available to property owners.
The Bronzeville District is a redevelopment project to create an African American cultural and entertainment hub in Milwaukee. The project is expected to impact the economic health of an older commercial district and surrounding residential neighborhoods, create investment and employment opportunities for the community, augment the City’s tourism goals, celebrate racial diversity, and bring national acclaim to the City of Milwaukee.
