Currently, the Milwaukee Fire Department recruitment period is over. The next recruitment effort is to be determined. However, we strongly encourage those interested in a career in fire service to further their education in the field. Several technical colleges in Southeastern Wisconsin offer two-year associate degrees in fire science: Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC), Gateway Technical College, and Lakeshore Technical College. Additionally, The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh offers a Bachelor's Degree in Fire and Emergency Response Management (FERM).
