In Conclusion

My immediate goal is to have the Canal Street Connector added as an additional "build option" to the Downtown Transit Connector Study so policy makers and the public can compare and contrast the costs and benefits of both the Canal Street Connector and the guided bus connector.

Perhaps the citizens of Milwaukee will decide that both options are too expensive. However, if the citizens of Milwaukee decide that the city needs a fixed guideway transit system to meet present and future transportation needs; to promote downtown; to act as a catalyst for economic development; and to project the image of a modern 21st Century city, then I believe that the Canal Street Connector is the most cost effective alternative to achieve those goals. Your comments are welcome.

If you agree with my perspective, please communicate your support to Mayor Barrett at 286-2200 or by email to mayor@milwaukee.gov.
