District Seven Officers Foil Robbery

District 7 Police Officers Christopher Martin and Robert Thiel thwarted a robbery at 8:12 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2008. The officers were on patrol when they saw three people loitering outside the Check Cashing Store at North 42nd Street and West Capitol Drive. The individuals ran when the officers approached to question them and two were caught. When questioned they admitted they were in the area planning to commit a robbery. They also identified the third individual, who was arrested a short time later. All three were charged with conspiracy to commit a robbery.
