Trevionne Petty

Trevionne is a firm believer that overcoming challenges is the key to learning. As a Milwaukee Collegiate Academy student, he pushed himself to take on rigorous coursework in chemistry, participate in mock trials in civics, and learn a new language and culture in a Spanish course.


Escuela Verde Students

EV uses project-based learning, which is a comprehensive teaching style that is hands-on and allows students to learn at their own pace while solving real-world problems. Aasyia Hightower

Aasyia is a South Division student with a passion for helping others. Aasyia works with special-needs students through Best Buddies Wisconsin, tutors at COA Family & Youth Centers, and spent her NYE running a crafts table for kids. As you can probably imagine, Aasyia plans to make a career out of helping others. In fact, she’s already applied to medical-assistant programs at three schools- Bryant and Stratton, MATC, and UWM.


Tatyana Mclemore

A senior at Milwaukee Public Schools’ Pulaski High School, Tatyana is a true STEM girl at heart. Her favorite classes are chemistry, biomed sciences, and geometry. She would like to use her passion for science to help people, and has expressed an interest in becoming a heart surgeon within or outside of Wisconsin. She’s already been accepted to six universities around Wisconsin, but has her heart set on going to Clark Atlanta University in Georgia.


Michael Burks

Michael is a student at Milwaukee Public Schools’ Harry and Lynde Bradley Technology and Trade School (Bradley Tech). He has a passion for STEM and service. After high school, he plans to pursue degrees in engineering and criminal justice while serving his country in the Army National Guard. And he’s well on his way! Michael is already accepted to South Dakota State University and is awaiting a decision from UW- Eau Claire.


Demetrius Brooks

Demetrius is a student at Milwaukee Public Schools’ Bay View High School with a passion for architecture and design. As a motivated student, he knows the opportunity to work and grow on the job is vital for an education and career in these fields. Demetrius is very grateful to participate in Milwaukee Public Schools’ Youth Apprenticeship program, where he has learned new skills in data entry and project management. He credits this work experience for his newfound confidence in his resume, college applications, and most importantly, himself. After high school, he plans to pursue interior architecture at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design or engineering at the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
