In October, District 7 challenged its block watch participants to keep their exterior lights on. The neighborhood that kept their lights on the longest would receive a lunch from the District 7 Block Watch Council.
Ron and Sandy Stechcon and their neighbors in the 8100 block of Lymar Terrace won the competition. Twenty-eight of the thirty residences on their block kept their lights on. In addition to lunch, the winner were given safety bags, including combination locks from Master Lock, smoke detectors from the Milwaukee Fire Department, and light bulbs from WE Energies.
