Inspector Leslie Thiele was appointed to the Milwaukee Police Department in 1996. As an officer, she was assigned to District Two as a patrol officer and then transferred to the Technical Communications Division as a dispatcher. In 2001, Thiele was promoted to Sergeant and worked in District Six and the Technical Communications Division. She was again promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2005 and worked in Districts, One, Three, and Seven as well as the Internal Affairs Division. In 2011, Thiele was promoted to her current rank and over the last few years has worked in the Criminal Investigation Bureau (South and North) where she oversaw detectives responsible for criminal investigaitons. She also worked in MPD's Financial Crimes Division, served as the Executive Officer to Assistant Chief James Harpole, and led District One and the Neighborhood Task Force as Captain. In July 2017, Thiele was promoted to Inspector. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Science degree in Management from Cardinal Stritch University.
