General Purpose Zone Information

What is a General Purpose Zone?

A General Purpose Zone is a Foreign Trade Zone established for multiple activities by multiple users. Storage, distribution, repackaging, and repair are some of the possible activities in a General Purpose Zone. Production or manufacturing in a General Purpose Zone is permitted but requires the permission of the Foreign Trade Zones Board.

What type of companies could benefit from a General Purpose Zone?

Utilizing a General Purpose Zone is a great solution for a company that would like to take advantage of the economic benefits of a Foreign Trade Zone, but does not want to activate and administer a Zone themselves.
