Milwaukee Herold and Seebote

The Milwaukee Herold and Seebote is one of many German language newspapers that catered to Milwaukee's growing German population at the turn of the century.  This paper was found under the corner stone of the former St. Mary's Convent and Nursing home that was at the corner of 35th and Center Streets in Milwaukee. Read the news from around the world and Milwaukee from May 27, 1900.

Food for thought?

How would you communicate with the future? What can you use today that will last 113-years?  What language would you choose? Would you use a jump drive? A cd-rom, a DVD or ???  Where would you put it in a building?

Comments from UW-Milwaukee German Professor Garry Davis on this paper and German papers influence in Milwaukee. (English summaries included.)
