Fall in love with your new home.

We can help make your dreams of homeownership a reality.

The City of Milwaukee offers reduced purchase prices on existing City-owned homes. And unlike traditional closing costs you might have to pay, we cover the broker fees for you.

Lower your costs even further by utilizing programs like the $20,000 Homebuyer Assistance Program and through our partnerships with organizations like Community Warehouse - you'll be able to purchase and rehab your new home just the way you like it!

Attend the next session to learn more about the Homebuyer Assistance Program, which offers assistance from a rehab specialist and up to $20,000 forgivable loans for the rehab of City-owned homes.

Vacant Spaces Become Productive Places

Have a vacant City-owned lot you want improved? As part of Mayor Barrett’s Strong Neighborhoods Plan, up to 80 City-owned vacant lots will be improved this fall. The City will continue to maintain these lots. Neighbors are invited to submit a lot for improvement and City staff will select suggested lots to be improved. Capacity is limited to 50-80 lots in 2014, with more to come in Spring 2015!

  1. Talk to your neighbors and pick one of the four designs
  2. Contact us with your selection: strong@milwaukee.gov or (414) 286-3467
  3. Enjoy and give feedback on your improved lot! Send photos of you and your neighbors enjoying a lot in your neighborhood to: strong@milwaukee.gov

If your group is interested in community gardens or "adopting" a lot, let us know and we'll show you how!
