Alert District 5 Officers Catch Burglary Suspect

Nov. 19 - District 5 Police Officers Linda Scholler and Joseph Torres identified a burglary suspect after they saw him putting a 50- inch television into a car. The officers stopped the suspect in the 3200 block of N. 1st Street on November 7 when they saw him putting the television into the back seat of the car. There were no reports that the television was stolen at the time they stopped the man, but it was unclear how he obtained the television and who the owner was, so the television was placed on police inventory. Later that day the owner called to report that the television was taken in a burglary. The officers obtained a warrant for the suspect and arrested him on November 13.
