4. The City of Milwaukee cannot accept responsibility for network and/or power outages that may occur during the transmission of bids.
5. All items being offered for sale are being SOLD AS IS, with no warranty or guarantee.
6. Any bidder who is awarded an item and fails to pickup and pay for that item may be prohibited from participating in any future City of Milwaukee on-line auction activities. The City reserves the right to make changes to items posted for sale, if deemed necessary, up to 24 hours prior to the posted bid closing time. It is the responsibility of bidders to monitor the site and amend their bids accordingly, if they so desire, before the posted closing time.
7. The City reserves the right to reject all bids and cancel the offer to sell posted items at any time, if deemed necessary.
8. How to bid: Click on the item you wish to bid on you will have the option to submit a bid. Complete the information in the e-notify profile. Once you are registered for e-notify, your information will be dynamically filled in on future bids.
9. Method of Payment: Payment must be at time of merchandise pick-up. Cash or cashier's checks may be used for payment. Sorry, charge cards, personal checks, or traveler's checks are NOT accepted.
Note: When you provide a check as payment, you authorize us either to use information from your check to make a one-time electronic fund transfer from your account, or to process the payment as a check transaction.
10. Pick-up of goods: Please call Procurement Services at 414-286-3501 to make arrangements for a date and time for pick-up. THE CITY WILL NOT SHIP ANY MERCHANDISE.

10. Method of Payment –Obtaining Receipt: Payment must be made at City Hall, 200 E. Wells St., Room 601 prior to pick up of materials. Highest bidder shall bring copy of Purchasing E –mail notifying them of winning bid. Cash, cashier’s checks, traveler’s checks, personal checks may be used for payment. Sorry, no credit cards accepted. A receipt will be issued describing the purchase, which will be required when picking up the materials purchased.
11. Pick up of Goods: The warehouse is located at Water Works Lincoln Avenue Yard, 3801 W. Lincoln Ave. Just East of the City Tow Lot.
12. A receipt from the Business Operations Division along with purchasing e-mail notification will be required to obtain materials at warehouse. The City will have a fork truck and operator at the site for loading of the pallets with materials. Signing of a Release of Liability form will be required by all persons coming on site. Purchaser is responsible for providing an appropriate vehicle of sufficient load capacity for removal of their purchase. Securing of materials on vehicle is responsibility of the purchaser. Tie-down materials will not be available on site. The City will not ship any materials. Items not removed after the date will be returned to web site for resale.
13. The Milwaukee City Hall is designed in the German Renaissance Revival style with its construction completed in 1895. The top of the south tower flagpole is 393 feet above the ground and was the third highest man made structure in the United States at that time, behind only the Washington Monument and Philadelphia’s City Hall.
This building was officially designated a National Historic Landmark in 2005.
The exterior of this building was restored from 2005 to 2008 and these items that are up for auction were removed as part of that renovation project.
The following photos and descriptions are for the sale. Also, for general information: the pallets are approximately 48” square and the large lion head (011) weighs approximately 1000 pounds – as a point of reference.
